Corvias believes in giving back to the community in which we serve. One of the ways we give back at Eielson AFB is through two programs that assist Airmen and their families.
The first program is the Honey Do Program, which is for the spouses of Airmen who are deployed or separated on long-term TDY. Spouses can apply to have a Corvias team member complete honey-do jobs in their home or yard. Corvias Maintenance team members can be scheduled to come into your home and complete handyman jobs like hanging pictures, or putting together furniture.
The second program is designed to alleviate some of the stress related to deployment or separation. Families of deployed Airmen can get free snow removal for their on-base home. We’ll shovel the snow from your driveway and sidewalk. Just bring a copy of the Airmen’s orders to the Corvias Community Office in Amber Hall, Suite 215 and we’ll take care of the rest.
These programs are free and a great way to reduce the stress in your life and make your stay at Eielson AFB better. Again, thank you for your service and sacrifice to our nation. If you have any questions or concerns, you can call us at 907-372-2300 or stop by the Community Office.
We have three upcoming Town Halls where we will be discussing the Resident Energy Conservation Program and answering any questions you may have! Corvias, Base Leadership and Conservice will all be in attendance.
- January 31st, Base Theater, 4:30PM
- February 22nd, Base Theater, 12:00PM
- February 22nd, Base Theater, 6:00PM
Please remember that you are responsible for removing the snow from your driveway/walkway when we get significant snow. While hard pack can be present, it’s important to keep it flat, not slippery and even for you and your neighbor’s safety. Make sure your car can get in the driveway without sliding to the side and damaging the doorway (and your car). To help reduce safety hazards you can check out snow shovels and ice scrapers at our Self Help Building on the corner of Arctic and Broadway. They are open Monday through Friday 7:30AM-11:30AM and 12:30PM-4:30PM.
If you ever see a red light illuminated in a house like the picture below, please call our 24/7 Service Request Line at 907-372-2302 to report it. This means the heat in the home is not working properly and we need maintenance over to assess before the home freezes.
Military Saves Week begins February 27! Saving your hard-earned money year-round is a great way to ensure your family’s financial preparedness. Take this week to review your saving plans. Set your goals, even small ones, and start saving now. For more information, please visit www.militarysaves.org to review savings tips, tools, resources, and strategies.
It is important to recognize that, despite your savings plans, there may still be financial emergencies that cost more than your nest egg can cover. If you are ever in an unexpected financial emergency, the Air Force Aid Society can help. The Society can assist with living expenses, emergency travel, vehicle expenses, funeral expenses, and other emergencies. For more information, please visit www.afas.org.
Don’t forget! Applications for the Corvias Foundation $50,000 Scholarships for children of active-duty service members are due Thursday, February 9. The application is available online here. $5,000 Scholarships for spouses are due May 4.
Water Conservation: When washing your hands, turn the water off while lathering. See more tips here!
